Probably the most famous man of Indian television today, Hiten Tejwani shares his wonderful journey of stardom.
A passionate actor, devoted husband, loving father and pure Piscean at heart!
My fans have been my extended family. You have loved me in all my versatile roles as actor, TV host and contestant and continue to shower me with all your love. This love of yours continues to always inspire me to explore the actor in me.
Born on March 5, 1974 in Mumbai, for me acting has always been my passion since childhood. I actively participated in school plays and even during my college days at Jai Hind College, Mumbai. Initially, I pursued modelling and did many successful ads for India’s top brands. It was also during this time that I first met Gauri, my loving wife. Although I was getting amazing modelling offers, all along I knew I had my calling in acting. I believe life too had bigger plans for me.
It was pure destiny when Balaji telefilms advertised an audition for their upcoming serials, and that I had dropped my pics at Balag Gate n then got a call for audition n was selected amongst thousands of others who had auditioned. That’s how Balaji studio gave me my first big break with Ghar Ek Mandir as Gautam. Thus began my journey with Balaji and stardom which has won me loving fans worldwide. The opportunity proved to be an excellent launch-pad for me and things moved real fast. I owe much of my success to Balaji Telefilms and my hard work. It is with blessings of God, Ekta Kapoor, Shobhaji, my parents and my wife Gauri, as my strength that I have performed such versatile roles and entertained my loving fans.
It is under the wings of Balaji Studio, my acting career really blossomed and I have touched all the stardom and love that my fans shower on me. Apart from the amazing serials that I have had the privilege of working in, I have been fortunate to work in films like Joggers Park (2003), Krishna Cottage (2004), Anwar (2007), Entertainment (2014), Thoda Lutf Thoda Ishq (2015).
The many awards that I have won are because of the immense love of my fans. The massively popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bhau Thi has won me many prestigious awards like Indian Telly Awards for Best Actor (2004), (2005), Star Parivaar Award for favourite Jodi for (2004), (2005), (2007),(2008), Star Parivaar Award for favourite beta (2004), (2005), (2006), (2007), (2008), Indian Telly Award for best actor in supporting role (2007) (2006) (2005), ITA Award for Desh Ka Sitara – Best Actor (2005) for Kyunki Saash Bhi Kabhi Bhau Thi, ZeeRishtey Awards for favorite Beta (2011), and Zee Rishtey Awards for favourite Pita (2011) for Pavitra Rishta.*
All this has been possible because of the loving adulation of my fanse around the world and this fuels my passion for acting forever more. Each day, I continue to explore myself as an actor in different roles on television or films, as reality show contestant or host.
My love for acting has also given me the love of my life, the gorgeous, and extremely talented actress Gauri Pradhan. We married in 2004 and it has been a wonderful journey for both us. No wonder, we have a magical chemistry onscreen too.
